You CAN NOT prevent chemical (natural & added) runoff from poultry farming from entering karst or underground spring water

THANK YOU

FOR TAKING THE TIME TO VISIT WITH US TODAY.  WE HOPE YOU WILL TAKE AN INTEREST IN SAVING OUR DRINKING WATERS, MOUNTAIN SPRINGS, RIVERS, CREEKS, AND ALL OTHER SOURCES OF OUR MOST PRECIOUS NATURAL COMMODITY.

The 7 mountain springs located on the Andrew S. Rowan Memorial Farm is some of the purest unfiltered drinking water in the world.

Natural Spring

Allowing these springs to be damaged will effect hundreds of thousands of people, it will DESTROY the restoration of The Sweet Springs Resort Park AND hurt the residents of Sweet Springs as these springs provide water for them.

The Park will be one of the biggest tourism destinations in WV, will employ over 250 people and will be a bright light in a rural area where the youth are leaving due to lack of career work.

SWEET SPRINGS WATERSHED ASSOCIATION

Hello and we are glad you came to visit.

Sweet Springs Watershed Association is dedicated to ensuring that all waters remain safe, clean, and free from corporate interference.  Water has been given to mankind for survival, and we want to ensure that our waters are supportive to these ends without the use of harmful chemicals (like chlorine, floride, bacteria's that harm our body systems, etc.).

25 years ago, the need to fight for the safety of our waters was almost unheard of except for sewer runoff.  Today we have to fight pipelines, poultry farming (especially in areas high in karst, like Monroe County), the use of harmful (even deadly) chemicals, corporations trying to take control of the nations major water supply so they control who and when we can obtain water and control the price we will pay for water, and so much more.

That is why, in 2015, The Sweet Springs Watershed Association was formed - to assist and help defend our waters.  While we will help everyone possible, we have a major concern ourselves.  The 7 natural mountain springs located on the historic Andrew S. Rowan Memorial Farm in Sweet Springs WV, and currently owned by the West Vrginia Department of Agriculture and leased by The Sweet Springs Resort Park.  Should crop farming, poultry farming, timbering, or other ground damaging work take place near the springs or on the "travel paths" of the water from these springs take place ..... the springs would be destroyed - and this would effect The Chesapeake Bay area as these 7 springs are headwaters to The Chesapeake Bay (Dunlap Creek to The James River to Chesapeake Bay).

Sadly, THERE IS NO WAY to prevent this damage to these springs should any damaging work be done on this property.

We would love for you to join us in this fight to ensure ALL WATERS - EVEN YOURS - stays clean and useable for all.

While some may say the problem with poultry farming has been "fixed" so it doesn't damage water  THIS IS NOT TRUE

Monroe County is a high karst area, and you CAN NOT keep the chemical (natural and added) drainage from entering the karst which then enters the water tables.

You also CAN NOT keep the drainage from entering natural underground springs
