PRESIDENT
O. ASHBY BERKLEY
Ashby has served the tourism and hospitality industry in WV for over 60 years.
Graduating from CIA (Culinary Institute of America) Ashby returned to WV to open the internationally famous Riveside Inn - 5 star restaurant ... the Pence Springs Flea Market - largest market in WV .... and later The Pence Springs Hotel - he restored the old WV State Prison for women.
During all this time Ashby did/was the following:
(1) A forefather to WV Tourism; (2) Co-founder of Southern West Virginia CVB and still lifetime Board Member; (3) Co-Developer of WVHT&A - the business persons voice to the Legislation and still a lifetime Board Member; (4) President of the National Inkeepers Association which he brought into WV to help B&B's get a foot hold here; (5) Cp-Developer of Tamarack - which has brought nationwide attention to WV artisians; (6) worked hand in hand with every Governor since Arch Moore, with Robert C. Byrd and Jay Rockefeller, who called Ashby a friend; (7) has won numerous awards in the hospitality industry; (8) Worked in the WV State HEAT office and while there was choosen by the federal government to represent the US in 5 countries teaching hospitality education; and (9) has restored 6 historic landmarks in Southern WV. He is currently working to restore The Sweet Springs Resort Park Foundation Inc.
VICE PRESIDENT
ROSEANNA SACCO
Roseanna is the owner of Sweet Springs Institute (see page above) and dedicates her life to living a healthy, sustainable life and protecting our water sources. Roseanna is affilated with all 7 watersheds in Monroe County, WV and works directly with Sweet Springs Watershed Association.
Roseanna has taken - in 5 brief years turned a Sustainability Forum - that she entirely plans - from the first one that had about 250 people into last years forum of 1300 + visitors both present and through Zoom.
Born in New York, she later moved to France where she worked in the movie industry. Upon returning to the US and discovering Sweet Springs, she purchased a farm and started Sweet Springs Institute and began living what she now teaches.
Roseanna speaks fluent French & Spanish as 2nd and 3rd languages .... is a top rated researcher .... and well loved amoung those who know her.
SECRETARY/TREASURER
ARIETTA A. DUPRE
Native to Monroe/Summers County, Arietta holds a PhD in Theological Theory and a BA in Christian Teaching.
She began working at 12 years old, doing odd jobs like picking up trash and busing tables. At 18, she suffered a life threating injury but fought back and accomplished things doctors told her she could never do.
Arietta's work history is extensive as she worked 2 and 3 jobs at a time.

Arietta has lived a sustainable livelyhood for several years - growing her own vegetables, canning her own foods, trading fresh butchered meats, trading for fresh eggs, etc. Growing up on/near the Greenbrier River, she has personal interest in keeping all waters clean and drinkable without the use of chemicals.
Arietta is a member of; (1) AARP, (2) American Historical Association, (3) National Historical Society, (4) Several Horse related groups, (5) Volunteers at The Sweet Springs Resort Park Foundation Inc.
(6) and is extremely active with all her family
